The University of Laval is hosting Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships. The scholarship aims to attract and retain international and national postdoctoral researchers so that they can contribute to Canadian development. The benefit is an amount of $70,000 per year for 2 years. This scholarship is offered every year. The deadline for this year’s application is on August 5 2024. This scholarship is available to international students. Canadian citizens, and permanent residents enrolling in a postdoctoral program at the University.
Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Eligibility
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Must be an international student, a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. Furthermore, the international student can only receive the scholarship at a Canadian university. For example, University of Laval
- You must meet or have completed all the requirements for a doctorate, or equivalent, or health professional degree. Moreover, before the scholarship start date, you must have obtained the same between September 15, 2021, and September 30, 2025. Those who do not meet the degree requirements would have to show proof of meeting the same by October 15, 2025
- Additionally, you must have an interest in the areas of research. For example, health research, natural sciences/engineering, humanities or social sciences
Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Application Process
To apply to the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships, submit a copy of the electronic application from ResearchNet to the Scholarships and Financial Aid Office at [email protected]. The last date for sending the application is on Monday, August 5, 2024. Additionally, the referee details must be submitted in ResearchNet by the organization’s September 17, 2024 deadline.
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship selection process takes place solely on the basis of merit. An expert committee will determine the recommended candidates who will receive a letter of approval at the beginning of September.
