Study in Ireland: Supplementary Application Forms Are No Longer Required for Indian Students

As per a recent announcement by the Irish government, supplementary applications are no longer required for Indian nationals. The rule is implemented as of June 19, 2023. Moreover, students applying for a visa must apply for relevant documents as per their visa category requirements. 

Ireland has emerged as one of the most desired study-abroad destinations for Indian students competing with traditional markets such as the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Canada. 

The Irish authorities removed the supplementary application form requirements to simplify the application process for Indian students. However, students seeking help from immigration representatives must apply online for the AVATS application. Or else, there are chances the application may be rejected by the officials. 

All the relevant information must be submitted in the online AVATS application form by the students. Whatsoever, the documents and information offered for the visa approval should be correct and genuine to avoid any last-minute hassle. 

How to Apply for an Irish Student Visa?

Additionally, the New Delhi Visa Office (NDVO), part of the Irish embassy currently in India is responsible for visa approvals from India. The steps to apply for a student visa are briefly summarised below for your easy reference. 

• Create your online application form on the AVATS, and print and sign the application form. 
• Arrange an appointment with Visa Facilitation Service (VFS). Furthermore, Indian students are required to submit their biometrics during their VFS appointment for student visa application. 
• In addition, pay the required fee for visa application, i.e., INR 5,300 for a single entry visa.
• Compile all the supporting documentation as per your visa category.
• Await for the visa outcome.
