The Sponsorship of Parents and Grandparents 2024 intake will open on 21st May 2024. The IRCC will begin extending invitations to apply to 35,700 potential sponsors, to get up to 20,500 complete applications. 5500 more invitations will be sent as compared to parents and grandparents sponsorship 2023 intake. IRCC will send out invitations for approximately 2 weeks starting from 21st May 2024. IRCC has used this approach for the intakes in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and is now using the same approach in 2024. Those invited to apply for the 2023 intake are required to submit their applications through the Portal of Permanent Residence or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal.

Eligibility of Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship
Check below the eligibility criteria to qualify to sponsor their parents or grandparents for PR in Canada:
- A Canadian citizen a permanent resident of Canada, or an Indian enrolled under the Canadian Indian Act who is at least eighteen years old.
- They must fulfill the IRCC financial requirement and have enough money to sustain the family they wish to sponsor, along with acceptable proof of income in the past three years.
- They must have submitted an interest to sponsor form for PGP in 2020.
