In January 2023, more than 59,000 students from different parts of the world arrived in Australia to complete their higher education.
Compared to the statistics of last year, this is a 111% increase in terms of admission. The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that more than 28,000 admissions of international students were done during the first phase.
However, even though the number of international students in Australia is rising, the country is yet to witness the pre-pandemic levels.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of admissions of international students was decreased by more than 34.4%.
Of all the international students who had plans to pursue their higher education in Australia, more than 30,000 students chose higher education institutions. Not to mention, the number increased by more than 19,000 in the last year,
This is undoubtedly great news for the Australian government as the universities are witnessing a growth of more than 53%. More than 13,000 international students are going through the vocational training and training program in Australia.
