The TOEFL full form is a Test of English as a Foreign Language. The exam is taken by students who want to study abroad. TOEFL Full Form: Exam Pattern
The TOEFL exam pattern is divided into reading, writing, speaking, and listening sections.
- TOEFL Reading: For the reading section students are given 3-4 passages of 700 words. Each passage will have 10 questions. The duration of this section is between 54-72 minutes. The TOEFL reading section scores are between 0-30.
- TOEFL Writing: The writing section includes two tasks that need to be completed within 50 minutes. Students can write 500 to 600 words for each task. The writing section score ranges between 0-5. It can later be changed to a scale of 0-30.
- TOEFL Listening: The TOEFL listening test has both – lectures and conversations. The students are given 20 minutes to answer each question. The academic lectures are 3-5 minutes long and include 2-3 conversations related to university life.
- TOEFL Speaking: The speaking section has an independent task and 3 integrated speaking tasks. The duration of the speaking section is 17 minutes. The scores of this section range between 0-30.
TOEFL Full Form: Eligibility Criteria
No specific eligibility criteria are provided for the TOEFL exam. The exam does not have an age barrier either. The only eligibility criteria listed by ETS is that candidates need to clear the 12th exams from a recognised university. Moreover, students who are younger than 15 years need to be accompanied by a parent/authorized adult.
