XAT Selection Process 2024: Step-wise Details
After the declaration of the result, the selection process for the XAT exam will begin. Each XAT participating institute has a different XAT selection approach for the students who will clear their XAT exam. To participate in the selection process of XAT 2024, candidates have to register on the official website of the colleges they wish to apply to.
Shortlisting of Candidates
The XAT exam 2024 will be available by the last week of January 2024. XLRI will shortlist the students for both Interviews and Group Discussions. The cutoff set by the different institutes will enable the selection of students for further process.
Rounds of Selection
The shortlisted students have to go through the following rounds set by XLRI call criteria:
- Group Discussion (GD) or/ and Essay writing
- Personal Interview (PI)
Final Selection
After clearing the XLRI Jamshedpur selection criteria, the final list will be prepared of selected candidates. Then the selected candidates will be admitted to their XAT respective offered programs of the XAT participating Institutes.

Candidates have to produce the following documents for the selection process:
- Original and photocopy of XAT counselling letter
- Original and photocopy of XAT Admit Card 2024
- The bank draft as per the details mentioned in the XAT Brochure
- Academic testimonials (class 10 & class 12; Bachelor’s Degree)
- Score Card/ Rank Card of XAT 2024 exam
- Caste Certificate (if any)
- Medical documents (if any health issues)
- 4-6 Passport size photographs both color and black and white.
