To score well in the OTET exam, your preparation should be aligned with the exam pattern. Follow these informative, exam-focused tips:
- Begin with Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP): This section is common in both Paper I and Paper II and carries 30 marks. Focus on learning theories, child psychology, inclusive education, and teaching methods, as questions are mostly concept-based.
- Practice MCQs on a Daily Basis: Since OTET is an objective-type exam, regular MCQ practice improves your speed, accuracy, and question-solving approach. Try to attempt timed mock tests to simulate the real exam environment.
- Give Extra Time to Your Chosen Subject: For Paper II candidates, Mathematics & Science or Social Studies carries the highest weightage (60 marks). Strengthening this section can significantly boost your overall score.
- Revise Language Subjects Consistently: Language I (Odia) and Language II (English) test grammar, comprehension, and usage. Daily revision of grammar rules, vocabulary, and reading passages helps improve confidence and accuracy.
- Solve Previous Year Question Papers: Practising past OTET question papers helps you understand the exam pattern, difficulty level, and frequently asked topics. It also helps in identifying important chapters for focused revision.
- Create a Subject-Wise Study Plan: Divide your preparation time according to the marks’ weightage. Allocate more time to high-scoring sections while ensuring regular revision of all subjects.
- Revise Regularly and Analyse Mistakes: After each mock test or practice session, analyse your mistakes and revise weak areas. This step is crucial for continuous improvement.
