The HPU MAT GD and PI process is part of the counselling of this entrance exam. Onc the candidates will get shortlisted for the next round, they can get admission to management courses offered by the Himachal Pradesh University. HPU MAT Selection Process

Rules for the HPU MAT 2023 selection process will be set up by the officials of the Himachal Pradesh University. While applying for this exam, candidates must be aware of its selection process as this will help them with their preparation for each stage of the selection process. The HPU MAT 2023 selection process will be divided into the following parts.
- Written Exam
- Counselling (GD and PI)
- Document Verification
The Counselling stage will be divided into Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

HPU MAT GD and PI Process
The final step in the selection process for the HPU MAT 2023 will be conducted by the officials of the Himachal Pradesh University at the prescribed time and location. This stage will include the Group Discussion (GD) and the Personal Interview (PI) rounds, where each stage will consist of a total of 10 marks. The University will call three candidates for each seat available through this exam.
HPU MAT Group Discussion
The first part of the HPU MAT Counselling process will include the Group Discussion (GD). Under this part, all the candidates will be grouped into teams of 12-15 candidates, where they have to discuss a single topic for about 25-30 minutes.
- The purpose of this round will be to test candidates’ leadership qualities, general knowledge skills and how well they can handle difficult situations.
- The GD will consist of a total of 10 marks.
HPU MAT Personal Interview
After the Group Discussion round is over, all the candidates will be called for the next round, which will be the Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The Personal Interview rounds are considered a very important part of the selection process as this will be the deciding factor whether the candidate will be given admission or not.
- Under the PI, candidates’ overall personality and interest in this exam will be evaluated.
- The interview will be conducted by a panel of officials of Himachal Pradesh University.
- The PI round will consist of a total of 10 marks.

To become eligible for the HPU MAT exam candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned below
(1) Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 50%
(2) Upper Age limit – 28 years for male candidates and 26 years for female candidates.
The HPU MAT GP-PI rounds will consist of 10 marks each. The marks in these rounds will be given on the basis of candidates’ individual performance.
To successfully complete the application form for the HPU MAT, candidates will have to pay INR 700 as an application fee.
