How does AIMA Calculate MAT Score?

The MAT score and percentile are calculated from the written examination of the candidate. Let’s uncover more about the MAT score vs percentile from the points below.

  • AIMA calculates the marks of the four sections asked in the exam. 
  • The last section of the exam is not considered while drafting the percentile.
  • The MAT score is calculated by calculating the marks of the four subjects and lies in the range of 200 to 800. 
  • MAT sectional exam score lies within the range of 20 to 80 marks. There is no range above or below these marks
  • If candidates secure marks below 200 they will be considered 199 only and not 200.

MAT Score vs Percentile 

The MAT Score and the Percentile are always released separately by AIMA. The MAT score refers to the total marks secured by the candidate in the written examination without adding the marks of the fifth section. On the other hand, MAT percentile is the relative marks obtained by the candidate in comparison to other candidates.

How to Calculate the MAT Percentile?

MAT Percentile is calculated by dividing the obtained MAT Score by the total number of candidates. It is important to get the MAT percentile because some colleges consider the MAT percentile an important factor for getting admission. However, some of them only consider MAT scores. So it is important to know about both of them. However, here is the formula to calculate the MAT percentile.

Formula:  MAT Percentile= MAT Score*100/ Total no. of Candidates
