BSF Head Constable Exam Latest Updates

The Border Security Force of India conducted the BSF Head Constable (Ministerial) written exam as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) from April 16, 2025, to June 2, 2025. This national-level examination was held in various exam centres. Those who secure minimum qualifying marks will be called for the future selection process. The results for this recruitment exam will be released on the official BSF recruitment website. Here are some key updates:

  1. A separate recruitment drive for 123 Head Constable posts (along with other posts) on a deputation basis is being held. The deadline for this offline examination is August 26, 2025.
  2. The selection process for the head constable exam has multiple stages. This includes a Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a Skill Test (typing), the Computer-Based Test (CBT), verification of documents, and a medical examination.
  3. Results for some BSF Group B and C posts (which can include certain Head Constable roles) have been declared on July 16, 2025.

BSF Head Constable Exam 2025 Exam Pattern

Candidates appearing for the written test of the BSF Head Constable Exam 2025 should have a detailed knowledge of the exam pattern, which will help them in their preparation.

Written Exam

The written exam of BSF consists of 5 different sections. Each Section consists of 20 questions, and each question carries one mark. For each wrong answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted. Physical Endurance Test (PET)

BSF Exam 2025 Application Process

The application process for the BSF Exam 2025 was conducted online. Candidates who possess all the required eligibility criteria can apply for this service requirement process before July 9th 2024. Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill out their application form-

  1. Visit the official website of rectt.bsf.gov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘BSF Constable GD’ to apply online.
  3. Fill out the Registration Form by entering details like your name, date of birth, educational qualification, etc.
  4. After completing the registration, candidates will receive a registration ID and password via email or SMS.
  5. Log in using the received credentials and fill out the details in the application form.
  6. Click on “save and next” and the next step will be to upload the scanned passport-size photograph and signature.
  7. Submit the form by paying the application fee, which is 100 rupees. Candidates from SC/ST categories are exempted from paying this Application Fee.
  8. Take a printout of your complete application form.

Applicants appearing for the BSF Head Constable Exam 2025 have to go through the selection process. Candidates can appear in the next round of the selection process if they will pass the previous one. The selection process consists of:

BSF Head Constable and Constable 2025 Salary

The remuneration for a BSF constable is set by the seventh (7th) Pay Commission, with several other allowances. It is important to note that the gross salary can range from INR 35,000 to INR 55,000 (depending on the allowance you get), and the in-hand salary ranges from INR 35,000 to INR 81,000 (depending on allowance and location of the posting).
