Hi Srijita,

The ability to send your SAT scores after submitting your application or whether you should delay your application until you have your October SAT scores depends on the policies of the specific universities you're applying to. Different universities have different policies regarding score submission and application deadlines. Here are the two most common scenarios:

  • Score Submission After Application Submission: Many universities allow you to submit your application before you have your official test scores. This is particularly common for standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. You can indicate on your application that you intend to take the test in October, and then once your scores are available, you can send them directly to the universities. However, make sure to verify this with the individual universities you're applying to. Some might have a specific deadline by which they need to receive your test scores.
  • Application Deadline Alignment: Some universities might align their application deadlines with the dates of standardized tests. For example, they might have an early application deadline in November and a regular deadline later, giving students a chance to submit their latest scores if they're taking tests in October.

Remember that the approach you choose should be based on the individual policies of the universities and your personal circumstances. If you're unsure, it's always a good idea to communicate directly with the admissions offices to ensure you're following the correct procedure.
