Far Eastern Federal University, officially known as Dalnevostochny federalny universitet in Russian was established 1899 in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, Russia. In 1899, Russian Emperor Nicholas II issued a decree to establish the Oriental Institute in Vladivostok, the first classical higher educational institution in Eastern Siberia and the Far East of the country. In 1920, after many round tables discussions between local, national leaders and administration of the institute, Oriental Institute and several private educational institutions were united into State Far Eastern University. For a long time, the university was closed as a result of the Russian Civil War. In 1930, State Far Eastern University was once again reopened, and many independent universities were established based on its departments like Kuibyshev Far Eastern Polytechnical Institute (Far Eastern State Technical University since 1992) and Far Eastern State University. Far Eastern Federal University is comprised of many schools and faculties including Oriental Institute - School of Regional and International Studies; School of Data Economy; School of Biomedicine; School of Economics and Management; School of Education; School of Engineering; School of Humanities; School of Law and School of Natural Sciences. Far Eastern Federal University offers wide range of programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in Economics, Law, International Relations, Russian Politics, Medicine, Health Science, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Engineering, Data Science and Data Economy.
