Registration is the first step for candidates willing to appear for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) 2025. The exam is conducted by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the registration can be completed on a first come first serve basis. Candidates need to pay their registration fee of INR 22,550 for the General Test and INR 14,500 for GRE Subject Test. How to Register for GRE 2025 Online? 

Candidates need to visit the official website to start their GRE registration process online. The easy steps to register for GRE Online are mentioned below for your easy reference: 

Step1: Visit the ETS website and select the "ETS Account" button located in the upper right corner of the page to register for the GRE. Make sure the name you use on your registration matches exactly the name on the ID and other required documents for the registration process. 

Step 2: Select "Create an Account" if you don't already have one. You will be redirected to the three-step process for registration. Also, you won't be able to edit any of the information you provide after registering, so make sure the details are accurate. 

Step 3: Enter all your personal information, including your full name as it is your identity proof. You can also include an optional social security number, home address, phone number, email address, and date of birth.

Step 4: Choose a username and password. Additionally, select a security question and provide an easily memorable answer. Entering your username, password, security question, and other details is required in this step. This will generate your login credentials.

Step 5: Please review the entered information and make any necessary corrections. If adjustments are needed, click the back button to return and make the edits. The email address you gave in the account creation will receive a verification link. Click the same to finish the verification process.

Step 6: Once an ETS account has been created, log in to the ETS GRE website. Your ETS account details can be found on your personal GRE Home page, which you will access after logging in. Click the blue Register Button to start the GRE registration procedure. 

Step 7: Candidates need to select the preferred GRE exam they want to take, GRE General Test or GRE Subject Test. Additionally, you also need to select the preferred option to appear for the GRE exam. Either it can be from the designated GRE centre or GRE at Home. 

Step 8: You'll now be redirected to choose the test centre, day and time. After this you will be able to finalise and register for the test centre, date, and hour of your choosing once you have finished your GRE Timeline.

Step 9: After this, you'll be redirected to an information page about the test guidelines including what to bring and when to appear at the testing centre. It's crucial to remember that you have 20 minutes to finish your registration after choosing a test day and location, after which it will be cancelled

Step 10: The GRE registration procedure is now complete. You must verify your private information, and select the GRE Search Service, which enables admissions officers from colleges to get in touch with you. Provide your background details and choose any test-preparation options you may be interested in.

Step 11: Once you've filled out all the areas, the payment page will appear. Any of the following payment options are available to you: Payment methods: Fund Transfer, PayPal, Credit Card, or Debit Card (must be a US bank).

Step 12: You will receive an email confirming the day, time, and location of your GRE after you have made payment. You can get the same data using your ETS account.

How to Register for the GRE 2025 Over the Phone?

The easy steps to register for the GRE over the phone are mentioned below. 

  1. To register over the phone, interested candidates need to call the Regional Registration Center (RRC) which is located in Gurgaon, Haryana. 
  2. Candidates need to call on 1-609-771-7670 or toll-free 1-866-473-4373, or contact a test center directly. The call must be made at least two business days before your preferred test date. 
  3. A confirmation number, test centre and address will be provided when you call for GRE registration. 
  4. Payment can be completed via JCB, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or Visa credit or debit card. 
  5. The registration process for the GRE over the phone is completed. 

How to Register for the GRE Exam by Mail 2025?

To register for the GRE candidates need to send their GRE application form along with the required registration fees to the given below address:

How to Register for GRE Registration Fax 2025? 

Registering for the GRE by fax is a simple process. Read the instructions listed below: 

  • Complete the application process and keep the printed copy of the same. 
  • Candidates need to send it to 91-124-4147773 with the complete registration fee. 
  • The registration form must be received by at least seven days before your first choice of the GRE test. 

Document Required for GRE Registration 2025

  • A valid passport (expired not accepted)
  • Must entail a name, photograph, and signature

  4. Candidates should be aware that as of July 2021, ETS has been accepting Aadhar Cards as a temporary form of identification for candidates who, due to the epidemic, lacked a valid Indian passport.
