Celebrating 25 Years of Engagement with India! In a significant move to strengthen educational ties with India, the University of Leeds has introduced the India Anniversary Masters Scholarship. This initiative commemorates 25 years of the university’s engagement with India and aims to support Indian students aspiring to pursue a master’s degree at Leeds.
Scholarship Details
- Value: Each scholarship is worth £5,000, which will be applied as a tuition fee reduction in the second semester of study.
- Number of Scholarships: There is no cap on the number of scholarships available; all eligible students will receive the award.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be Indian nationals.
- Be classified as international fee-paying students.
- Hold an offer for a full-time or part-time taught master’s program commencing in September 2024 at the University of Leeds.
- Meet all conditions of their academic offer and accept the unconditional offer on the application portal.
- If applicable, pay a tuition fee deposit of £3,000 by the date specified in the offer letter.
- Be registered as a University of Leeds student at the start of February 2025.
It’s important to note that online courses are not eligible for this scholarship.

Application Process
No separate scholarship application is required. Eligible students who meet the criteria will automatically receive the scholarship as a tuition fee deduction in the second semester. Applicants are encouraged to confirm their interest by accepting the scholarship via the link provided in the scholarship award offer email.
Additional Opportunities: International Excellence Scholarships
Beyond the India Anniversary Masters Scholarship, the University of Leeds offers the International Excellence Scholarships. These scholarships provide 10%, 25%, and 50% fee reductions for international students commencing studies in 2025. Applicants must demonstrate an excellent academic track record and show outstanding professional and personal skills through work experience or extracurricular activities. The application deadlines are:
- For applicants domiciled in mainland China: Friday, 28 February 2025, 5 pm UK time.
- For all other applicants: Friday, 16 May 2025, 5 pm UK time.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 13 June 2025.
