Dalhousie University Scotia Scholars Award from Research Nova Scotia is open for Canadian and International students. The scholarship offers financial assistance to research trainees with exceptional potential involved in health research at participating Nova Scotia institutions. Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness is funding the scholarship. The award aims to support the growth, acquisition, and retention of skilled people who advance and translate knowledge in illness detection, treatment, diagnosis, and prevention. The scholarship benefit is $12,500 per year for up to two years (master’s) and $18,750 per year for up to two years (doctoral). Interested students must apply for the scholarship before the deadline. The last date for applications is Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. ADT.
Scotia Scholars Award from Research Nova Scotia Eligibility Criteria
The Scotia Scholars Award from Research Nova Scotia eligibility requirements are as follows:
- The student must have already enrolled in, accepted in, or applied to a full-time thesis-based master’s or doctoral degree program.
- Additionally, the student must have already made contact with an eligible research supervisor at Dalhousie.
- Engage in research activities relevant to Research Nova Scotia’s Health Missions.
- In the upcoming school year, the student must be in good standing for enrollment
- Moreover, the scholarship beneficiary must maintain all eligibility criteria for the full course duration. The scholarship is nontransferable.
- The University recommends that the student achieves a first-class average. The student must achieve a first-class average in each of the last two completed years of study (full-time equivalent).
Scotia Scholars Award from Research Nova Scotia: Application Process
To apply students can submit the online application form along with the documentation to the Research Nova Scotia’s online submission portal. The guidelines provided on the ResearchNS website can be followed.
Submission of documents directly to the Dalhousie’s Faculty of Graduate Studies is not acceptable. Similarly, applications submitted after the deadline is not acceptable.
