Bangor University, one of the most prestigious and oldest degree awarding universities, is offering scholarships for International students. The university has dedicated £1M for granting scholarships and bursaries for new and returning students. However, most of the University scholarships granted for the academic year 2023-34 have expired.

Dean’s Scholarship
The Bangor university grants the Dean’s scholarship to international students who demonstrate academic excellence in their previous or current studies. It is a merit-based scholarship.The scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
However, the student must have secured A Grade/First class average or equivalent in the qualifying exam. The University would grant a scholarship amount of up to £6,000 (INR 6.45 lakh) for the 1st year to UG students. Scholarship amount of up to £5,000 (INR 5.38 lakh) is for PG students.
International Scholarships
Bangor University is offering international scholarships to students to cut down their expenses. The aim of the scholarships is to reduce the financial burden of living in the UK.
However, the university take into account the choice of course, personal statement, academic references, skills, experience, domicile, and academic references of the student when granting a scholarship amount of £4,000/ INR 4.30 lakh (1 year) to undergraduate students. PG students can receive a maximum of £3,000 / INR 3.22 lakh as scholarship grant.
Alumni Scholarship
The Alumni Scholarship is available to international students who have previously studied at the University. Additionally, the scholarship is also available to the immediate family members of the student. That is, spouse, sibling, children, or grandchildren.
The university grants the scholarship as a tuition fee discount.The amount granted is £1,000/INR 1.07 lakh in addition to any other international scholarship secured by the student.
The Dean’s Scholarship and the International scholarships are available to UG students starting in September 2023, and PG students starting in September 2023 and January 2024. However, the Alumni scholarship are only available to PG and UG students starting in 2023.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide (2023) ranked Bangor University among the ‘top 45 UK universities’. Moreover, the university has received the ranking 182 in the world for International Outlook as per the Times Higher Education World Ranking 2022.
