VITMEE is a competitive exam that is conducted each year by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for various engineering courses. The full form of VITMEE is the Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination. The candidate who wishes to pursue the master’s course from VIT has to undertake the entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, a candidate has to meet certain criteria depending on the various courses they are applying for. Some of the general criteria are mentioned below:
- Must have passed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least aggregate marks of 60%
- Must have a valid GATE score (if applicable)
- Be a citizen of India

Exam Pattern
The exam had two phases with 2 sections and was taken in online mode:

Exam Sections
Section 1: Mathematics (100 questions, 2 hours)
Section 2: Engineering Aptitude (100 questions, 2 hours)
Section 1 includes topics such as linear algebra, probability, calculus, and differential equations.
Section 2 consists of topics such as computer science, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, and engineering mechanics.
The candidates who will be getting the qualifying marks in the examination will be eligible to get enrollment in the various Post Graduate courses (PG) courses like MCA, M.Tech, etc. for the Vellore and Chennai Campus.
Results and Scorecard
The results of the VITMEE exam of 2023, were declared on 12th May, 2023. The students can also check their scorecards with results at the official website of VIT University.

How to Check the Results?

A. The application fee for VITMEE 2023 Application Form is INR 1200 for pursuing post-graduate studies. The VITMEE 2023 exam was held on the 16th and 23rd of April,2023.
A. In the VIT Vellore campus last year, the highest placement package that was offered was around INR 1.2 crores per annum. And in the recent placement drive that was held in 2023, the highest package stood at the same level i.e. INR 1.2 crores per annum.
A. As compared to any other entrance exam like GATE, the VITMEE has a moderate difficulty level. The syllabus is not different than GATE and the students who have prepared for the GATE exam would not find the difficulty level higher for VITMEE.
A. Yes, even if a student has not appeared at the VITEE entrance, he/she can join VIT. It is only for some courses like B-Tech admission or MCA or M-Tech admissions VITEE or VITMEE is mandatory.
But if a student wishes to undertake some other courses like BA/B.Sc./B-Arch, etc, then you don’t need to appear in the entrance exam.
A. With the recent rankings, VIT Vellore is positioned higher than the Chennai campus. The placements and career options and also in terms of campus lifestyle and culture, the Vellore campus is ranked better than its other campuses.
