According to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the Aditya L1 launch date is 2 September 2023. The estimated launch time is 11:50 AM (IST). Aditya L1 is one of the ISRO future missions that is specially designed to study the outermost layer of the sun i.e. Chromosphere and the corona of the sun. Aditya L1 mission is India’s first-ever space-based solar mission to study the surface atmosphere of the sun.
The launch will take place from ISRO’s PSLV-C57 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC-SHAR), Sriharikota. As per the information released by ISRO, the Aditya L1 mission will be deployed in a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth Lagrangian Point (L1). The L1 point is about 1.5 million kilometres from Earth’s surface.

It contains 7 payloads that will study the following:
- Gas Pattern
- Coronal Heating
- Wind Acceleration

The 7 payloads that will be carried with the spacecraft are designed to analyze the chromosphere, photosphere, and corona. It will use electromagnetic, magnetic field, and particle detectors to study the sun’s atmosphere.
Talking about the Aditya L1 budget, ISRO has not released any specific figures. However, it is estimated that the budget of this solar mission is approximately INR 400 crore.
