Established in 1851, University of Pacific is California’s oldest chartered university. It is a private, higher learning institution spread across three campuses: Stockton, San Francisco and Sacramento. It was the first independent campus in the California region and was earlier known as College of the Pacific and California Wesleyan College. The university is mainly renowned for its undergraduate and graduate programs in Liberal Arts and also offers a wide range of courses in Education, Dentistry, Business, Engineering, Law, International Studies, Pharmacy, Health and Music. It has also been attributed by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Further, the university has added new bachelor’s degree programs in the field of Food Studies, Audiology and Music Therapy which are provided at the university’s San Francisco campus. The university is home to more than 6,400 students comprising of over 3700 undergraduates, 1,100 postgraduates and around 1200 students pursuing short-term certificate and diploma programs. The institution has a total of 11 colleges and schools that are spread across its three main campuses. The university offers over 80 undergraduate courses, 30 graduate programs, 12 accelerated programs along with various continuing education courses. Also, the university board recently approved the establishment of a new Health school which will be inaugurated in 2020.
