University of La Laguna (ULL) is a public Spanish university that is located on the island of Tenerife. Considered to be one of the oldest universities in the Canary Islands, the university has several other campuses situated across the country. Established in 1927, the university is known for a plethora of specialized programs offered in the extensive stream of Arts. In order to highlight the Canary Islands as a centred stage for intercultural dialogue, the university has strategized a ten-year goal of achieving the status of the European University of the Atlantic, i.e. becoming an institution that facilitates open teaching and research opportunities to students and scholars across the Canary Islands and the Atlantics. It is also striving to explore the innumerable fields of scientific and theoretical research. Moreover, as per a survey conducted by the Everis Foundation, the university has been recognized as the second-best university in the country for its offered programs in the field of Humanities. In the Leiden rankings created by the Center for Studies of Science and Technology of the Leiden University, the University of La Laguna was ranked at the first Spanish University to facilitate scientific collaborations. One of the most popular student traditions at La Laguna University is the popular Fuga de San Diego every November 13. Central, Anchieta, Guajara, Campus del Sur, Ofra and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In 2015, the University of La Laguna entered the ranking of the top 500 universities in the world by the Institute of Education in Shanghai (China), is the only of the two Canarian public universities to enter the ranking.[
