SUNY (State University of New York) was established more than 150 years ago in 181 by Edward Austin Sheldon. It was initially built as the Oswego Primary Teacher's Training School and the first one to combine object learning method with class training. Today also the institute meets the evolving needs of employers and society by creating and adapting a broad selection of programs. This institute offers undergraduate programs starting from Accounting to Zoology. It has four distinct colleges that provide 60 undergraduate majors. The institute accommodates a flexible curriculum to the students where they can opt to combine majors, add two or more minors or concentrate in selective subjects by choosing the electives. The University provides more than 120 undergraduate, graduate and professional based programs and more than 70 minors. The Office of International Education and Programs (OIEP) offer two distinct campus services i.e. Education Abroad and International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS). The strength of the institute is the teamwork of all members of the community to create a safe and secure environment through education, collaboration, communication and community empowerment. Here there is more to experience than academics as the campus offers students to pursue their interests, hobbies, passions, etc in a friendly environment where all the students are equally important to their community as they say "SUNY is like home for us".
