Mount Mary University is a Catholic liberal arts institution founded in 1913 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, a worldwide religious institute of Roman Catholic sisters. The university was known to be the first 4-year degree-granting Catholic college for women. It now offers more than 30 undergraduate majors for women and 8 graduate-level courses including master’s and doctoral degree programs for both female and male students. Other than this, post-baccalaureate certificate programs are also offered at the university. The university campus is based on an 80-acre land with its first two buildings namely, Notre Dame Hall housing classrooms and administrative office and the Caroline Hall serving as the student residence hall. Other facilities include auditorium, bookstore, post office, The Patrick and Beatrice Haggerty Library, Gerhardinger Center, Bloechl Recreation Center with basketball and volleyball courts, training rooms, fitness centre, classroom for aerobics, yoga and dance.
