Marquette University is a private research university that was named after Father Jacques Marquette. The initial aim of the university was to provide affordable Catholic education to the German immigrant population. It is the largest Jesuit university in the whole country. It has programs relating to the field of business, liberal arts, engineering, education, health science, and law. It has 11 different schools and colleges. Alumni include Pulitzer Prize Winners, Truman Scholarship Winners, Fulbright Scholarship Winners, Emmy Awardees, and Academy Award winners. It also has a US senator as a notable alumnus. It has many famous basketball players as alumni namely Dwyane Wade, Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler, Tony Miller, and many more. The university maintains an active Marquette University Alumni Association. The college includes schools such as College of Education, College of Engineering which trains Engineers, College of Health Science, College of Nursing, and a Law School for budding lawyers. It also has a College of Business administration and Graduate School of Management for bachelor and postgraduate degrees in Business Administration. It was ranked at the 201st position for US University rankings by Forbes in 2018.
