Central State University was established in 1887 by the State legislature as Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, United States. However, in the year 1947, the institute gained an independent status and was later renamed as Central State University in 1951. The university campus covers an area of 638-acres with a powerful history concerning the commitment for the education of black Americans. With the enrollment rate of over 1800 undergraduate aspirants, the university has a fairly competitive nature with an acceptance rate of about 48%. The Central State University offers majors operating under four colleges within its disciplines namely, the College of Engineering, Science, Technology and Agriculture; College of Education; College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and College of Business.
