Established in 1989, Central Alabama Community College is a public university created through consolidation of City State Junior College and Nunnelley State technical College. Currently it hosts a total of 1,835 students across its four state-wide campuses, namely, Pratt’s Mill Center, Alexander City Campus, Childersburg Campus and the Talladega Center. Almost half of the enrolled students are part-time students. The college offers the following programs, namely, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science in disciplines of Computer Information Science, Drafting and Design, General Business, Industrial Electronics and Nursing, Associate in Occupational Therapy in Cosmetology, Welding, Machine Shop and a Fine Arts Degree. The college is certified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges as well as by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. It vaunts of partnerships with organisations such as Troy University, Alabama Technology Network, ACT, Huntington College and a host of others. It also offers facilities of career counselling, credit-for-life and distance education.
