Study in Bulgaria: The Country Invited Almost 18,000 International Students in 2023

Nearly 18,000 students from different parts of the world chose to complete their higher education at Bulgarian institutes in the 2022-23 academic year.

As per the data showcased by the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria, 17,593 international students chose to pursue their master’s as well as bachelor’s degrees in Bulgaria, which is 8.1% of the overall student population.

Most international students who are studying for their higher education in Bulgaria are from different countries such as Greece (22%), the UK (14.4%), Germany (9.8%), Ukraine (9.1%), and the Republic of North Macedonia (5.6%).

More than 200,00 international students were enrolled at different institutions as well as other types of higher schools. In addition, more than 25,000 international students also chose private educational institutions.
