University of Washington United States Scholarship

  1. Full Bright Nehru Fellowship - This fellowship is applicable for international students who are applying to master’s or PhD programs in the US and covers tuition fees, accident and sickness coverage as per US guidelines, airfare, and living costs
  2. Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Programme - This scholarship program covers tuition fees, monthly maintenance allowance, living expenses, airfare, professional expenses.
  3. AAUW International Scholarship -  This scholarship is awarded to international women students for full-time study and research in the US and supports both graduate and post-graduate students accredited in the US institutions.
  4. IEFA -Through this scholarship, students are offered five $1,000 student scholarships each year in specific areas.


The application fees for UG courses are USD 80, while for graduate programs, the application fee ranges from USD 75.
With an acceptance rate of 48 - 51%, the University of Washington is considered very competitive. Hence, students must have good academic records to be eligible for admission.
Students must have a GPA of 3.7 and above to get into UW
UW does take into account a student’s financial needs and offers scholarships to students who demonstrate need. However, students can enrol for other scholarships mentioned above.
In general, one credit represents one hour in class per week. Many UW courses are 5 credits, i.e. 5 hours per week.
