The University of Ulsan was founded as the Ulsan Institute of Technology in 1969. It was promoted to a full-fledged University on March 1, 1985. Even though it started as Ulsan Institute of Technology, University of Ulsan today offers programs in broad area through 12 colleges. Most of the colleges at the University of Ulsan have individual research institutes to promote research into various academic fields. It has been ranked #521-530 by the QS World University Rankings 2021.
