The University of South Wales is a government-funded university, located in England. It was established in 2013 after the merger of University of Glamorgan and University of Wales, Newport. It has four campuses each located at Cardiff, Dubai, Newport and Pontypridd. The University houses more than 33,000 students who are currently enrolled in 345 bachelors, masters and doctorate courses across its four departments. These departments are: Business and Society, Computing and Engineering, Creative Industries, and Life Sciences and Education. The university is best known for its Music, Sports, Civil Engineering and Geology courses. It is the only university in the UK to integrate the EASA part 66 aerospace qualification with its honors course. The University of South Wales has also been accredited by the privy Council for its top notch work in the field of Education. In spite of being a relatively new university, it has been able to produce graduates who have achieved milestones in their respective fields. Keir Thomas (author and journalist), Tine Wittler (writer and presenter), Asif Kapadia (film maker), and Ben Green (comedian) are some of the notable alumni of this university.
