The origin of the University of California Santa Barbara goes back to the Anna Blake School. The school was founded at the end of the 18th century. At that time, it was used to offer education in the fields of home economics and industrial arts. The university was renamed by the state at the beginning of the 19th century and became Santa Barbara State Normal School. In 1921, the university was renamed again and became Santa Barbara State Teachers College. Ultimately, the university achieved its current name in 1958. The academic structure of the UCSB is divided into 5 schools. The university's campus has 4 parts within it. The east is the central portion of the university where all the academic schools and undergraduate accommodation exists. Apart from the main campus, the university has 3 more campuses named as Storke, West, and North campus. All the buildings of the university have a stunning infrastructure where students get a chance to study with world-class facilities. Besides academics, the university also encourages students towards sports like soccer, golf, swimming, tennis, water polo, and volleyball. At present, the university offers around 200 graduate and undergraduate degree programs in fields like media, anthropology, social sciences, mathematics, environmental science, psychology, engineering, languages, and sports. The university houses an outstanding team of faculty members that are very passionate to achieve academic excellence. Every year, the university enrolls so many students from all over the world and guarantees employment opportunities at the same time.
