History, Affiliations and Rankings

Regarded as one of the top universities in the UK, the University of Bath was founded in 1966 and is located in Somerset. The university's mission was to "provide a higher literary and scientific education as an adjunct to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge." Despite the fact that the Victorian plans for the college fell through owing to a lack of funding, the area still needs a science and technology institution. The Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace in 1851 raised public awareness of Europe's scientific and craft knowledge. In response, the Bristol Trade School was founded in 1856 as the initial portion of the institution that would eventually become the University of Bath. Its goal was to give industrial training in sciences and technology, which, combined with humanities and management, account for the majority of the subjects we teach and research today. The university is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Association of MBAs and the European Quality Improvement System. The university has been consistently ranked among the top universities globally and was given the #166th position according to the QS World University Rankings 2022 and was ranked between #201-250 in THE World University Rankings 2022. Also, the Complete University Guide and the Guardian University League Table rank the university at #10 and #8 for 2022, respectively.

Campus, Courses and Infrastructure

The university’s main campus is located on Claverton Down and is known to be one of the plate glass universities. The university has undertaken a significant project to increase accessibility for individuals with impairments. The campus was designed with wheelchair and accessible parking in mind. The university is also known to have multiple student residences along with the central pedestrian thoroughfare, The Parade. Having a legacy of more than 50 years, the university offers an array of well-structured programs across four faculties: Engineering & Design, Humanities & Social Science, Management and Science. These courses are led by professionals who instil practical and theoretical knowledge in students along with the requisite skills.
