The University of Guadalajara (UDG) is a public autonomous institution in Mexico. Its history dates back to the colonial era in Mexico. UDG was inaugurated in 1792 and re-established in 1925. The university has more than 200 years of experience in education. It focuses on academic excellence, social solidarity, and humanistic thinking. It promotes scientific and technological approach as well as innovative approaches to impart knowledge. The university comprises of six thematic university centres, nine regional university centres, and 165 schools which are distributed throughout Jalisco. The university is dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship and implements educational policies for the same. It offers various courses in Art, Design and Architecture, Biological and Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Administrative Economic Sciences, and Exact Sciences and Engineering. The university offers a wide range of services to its students, faculty as well as to the general public. It organizes workshops for basic learning strategies and campaigns for reading. The university also engages in talks related to prevention of suicides, accidents, and crimes. It also offers a preparatory course program for students appearing for admission exam. The UDG also provides a job network to the graduates. It has a connection office which helps its students to secure professional internships abroad.
