Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics was established in the year 1952 and is considered amongst the leading research public aeronautics institution in mainland China, in the Asian continent and in the world. The university houses some of the best-in-class research institutions and practical laboratories in the world. It boasts of two campuses, namely, the Ming Palace Campus and the Jiangjun Rd. Campus. Programs of study are offered through specialised colleges of aerospace engineering, energy and power engineering, automation engineering, astronautics, civil aviation, science, economics and management and a few more. The university experiences total student enrollment of close to 28,000 across its 54 undergraduate, 80 graduate courses and 16 post-doctoral programs with around 1,000 students hailing from countries worldwide. It has produced significant research output in the fields of mechanics, aeronautical engineering, aircraft design, dynamics, automation and unconventional engineering amongst others. On campus amenities include sport and recreation facilities, health centre, accommodation et cetera.
