LIM College is a private fashion school in Midtown, Manhattan, New York which was initially established as the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in 1939 by the renowned Retail and Education expert Maxwell F. Marcuse. The school aims to create opportunities for women in the field of Fashion, particularly in the Fashion industry and merchandising. Located in Manhattan, the fashion capital of the world, LIM offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate degree programs in various disciplines such as Fashion Media, International Business, Visual Studies, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Management. The college also offers short-term courses in various fields such as Global Studies, Art History, Sustainability, Photography, Digital Design and Interior Designing. LIM College is accredited by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education. The college’s most special feature includes their experimental educational method of “learn by doing” which is an aesthetic approach of learning Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management. The college comprises of 4 campuses located in different areas of Manhattan including the Town House, Fifth Avenue Building, Maxwell hall, and the Third Avenue Residence hall. The college’s student population comprises of 1,500 on-campus and 65 off-campus undergraduates along with 170 on-campus and 108 off-campus graduates.
