Kazakh British Technical University (KBTU) was established in 2001 by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. KBTU has partnered with the University of London and has been awarding double undergraduate degrees since 2005. After completing these degree programs, the students are honored with degrees by the London School of Economics and Political Science along with KBTU. The university aims at improving the quality of education by creating mathematical models of technical and economic problems and solving those mathematical problems. The university has established various institutions in the field of Science. The main areas of research in these institutes are Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies, Alternative Energy, Business, Management, and Finance amongst others. KBTU offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs in several specializations of Science. The university comprises the Faculty of Geology and Geological Exploration, the Faculty of Information Technologies, the Faculty of General Education, amongst others. The university also has a Center for Postgraduate Studies which offers an array of master’s degrees and PhD programs.
