Jaume I University is a higher education institution and research centre established in 1991. The university is spread across an area of 176,000-meter square with 5 faculties and many research and management buildings along with a 13,000 sq.m. garden named “Jardi dels Sentits” which means “the garden of the senses”. The university aims to contribute to the social, economic and cultural development of the region while also keeping its focus on environmental sustainability. UJI strives to innovate schemes which can enhance the quality of research and teaching within the campus. The university is known for its Chemistry, Material Sciences and Business Studies programs which are heavily research-oriented.

The university has a modern campus designed with spacious green areas and sports facilities. With a limited number of students within the campus, there is no scope of overcrowding and it is also ensured that every student receives individual attention. UJI holds its focus on bringing innovation in the international sphere and takes great pride in its foreign exchange initiative that has welcomed more than 600 students from all across the world. Moreover, it has a wide international network with 145 university-partners in Europe, the US and Latin America. Around 15,000 students were enrolled at the main university campus in 2014.
