China Medical University is a medical university in the city of Shenyang, China under the central government of China. The MBBS program at the University has been taught in English since 1978. According to the U.S. News & World Report Best Global University Ranking, it is rated 345 in the world, 55 in Asia and 10 in China. It stands among the top medical universities in China, as per the CWTS Leiden Ranking 2018 and Chinese university ranking (CUAA) 2018. It is also recognized as the best university to take International students for various degrees. CMU has three spacious and exceptional affiliated hospitals, where students can continue an internship in the final year. Sheng Jing Hospital is kenned for gynecology and obstetrics programs.
China Medical University (CMU) was the primary medical school established by the Chinese Communist Party. Its forerunner was the Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Military Medical School which had been organized in Ruijin city, Jiangxi region. Following the Long March with the Red Army, it was moved to Xianbei. In 1940 companion Mao Zedong proposed, and the central organization of the Chinese Communist Party approved, the name of the institution being changed to China Medical University. In November 1948 the whole northeast of China was released and the university was directed to move to Shenyang. In 1948 and 1949 it joined the medical institution formerly run by the South Manchuria Railway and the Mukden Medical College whose roots go back to 1892. In 1911/1912 this became a regular medical college, the Mukden Medical College.
