Founded in 1919, the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a public institution which has granted more than 20,000 degrees and graduated over 400,000 students within a span of 97 years. It is situated at Wright-Patterson Airforce base in Ohio, United States. Air Force Institute of Technology was ranked 93rd in the Best Engineering Schools in the United States. AFIT excels in the fields of engineering and management and has been certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(ABET) for a majority of its programs at the master’s level. The university believes in providing technical and defence-centric education and promotes research and consultation for air and space defence. Some of the most prominent majors at the masters level at Air Force Institute of Technology include aerospace engineering, computer applications, engineering physics and mathematics and system engineering amongst others. In 2015, it inaugurated its world-class School of Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies.
