I believe that the growing trend of plant-based diets is a positive development and a potentially sustainable solution to global food security issues. Plant-based diets require fewer resources, such as water and land, compared to animal-based diets. For example, producing a kilogram of beef requires up to 15,000 litres of water, whereas producing the same amount of vegetables requires significantly less. Moreover, plant-based diets play a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Livestock farming is a major source of methane gas, which is a potent greenhouse gas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By shifting to plant-based foods, we can reduce our carbon footprint, helping to mitigate climate change\u2014something that is closely linked to food security. Additionally, plant-based diets can provide sufficient nutrition if well-planned. Foods such as lentils, beans, and many other plants are rich in protein and other essential nutrients. Many cultures across the world are already thriving primarily on plant-based diets, demonstrating their viability.
