The GMAT focus edition was introduced during the fall session last year as an option for students.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students could choose to opt for the traditional exam or the focus edition for admission to business school. The requirements for preparations and the pattern of scoring will significantly change with this shorter format of the GMAT exam.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-has-gmat-introduced-a-focus-edition\"><span id=\"why-has-gmat-introduced-a-focus-edition\">Why has GMAT Introduced A Focus Edition?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While the essence of the exam remains the same, that is to evaluate students based on their aptitude to get admission into business schools around the world, there have been some major changes too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1953, GMAT has given competitive scores to topmost business schools to select the best students for their flagship programs and degrees. It has become so common among the students that nearly 80% of the students rely on this exam for their admissions to business schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exam has remained popular among the students as well as the business schools around the world. However, the key to this consistent supremacy is to remain relevant. Changes in the examination have been made to transform the test of aptitude so that it includes questions relevant to the changing curriculum, needs and advancements in the learning environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-the-major-changes-in-the-gmat-exam-s-focus-edition\"><span id=\"what-are-the-major-changes-in-the-gmat-exams-focus-edition\">What are the Major Changes in the GMAT Exam\u2019s Focus Edition?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the three major changes introduced in the GMAT focus edition.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shorter and flexible test with only three sections, namely; <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/learn\/satp-gmat-quantitative-reasoning\/\"><strong>Quantitative Reasoning<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Verbal Reasoning<\/strong>, and Data Insights. You can choose to answer in any order.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analytical Writing Assessment or Integrated Reasoning section are removed from the test.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new scoring system has been introduced giving each section an equal weightage of marks.
