Write a post responding to the professor\u2019s question.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In your response, you should<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>express and support your personal opinion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>make a contribution to the discussion in your own words<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An effective response will contain at least 100 words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ans:<\/strong> Next week, we\u2019re going to spend a lot of time in class discussing the positive and negative ways in which companies affect the world around us.\u00a0 Before we start talking about that in class, I want to hear what you think about the topic. So here\u2019s a question for the message board: In your opinion, what is the best way for a company to have a positive impact on society?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah: I believe that companies should focus on making their operations more socially and environmentally friendly. While charitable giving can be beneficial, it doesn\u2019t address the root causes of serious social and environmental problems. By doing business in more responsible ways, companies can have a more meaningful and lasting impact on society.\u00a0 Moreover, if they attract positive attention from consumers they could inspire other companies to do the same.\u00a0 That\u2019s the only way we can really solve today\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John: While those are very good points, I think that companies should focus on charitable giving. Philanthropy can provide immediate relief to those in need and contribute to the overall well-being of society right away.\u00a0 It could take years or decades for business changes to have a positive impact on society, and most people just can\u2019t wait that long.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe that the best approach for a corporation to have a beneficial impact on society is to set precedents for others to follow. A corporation, regardless of its nature, must keep society and its people at its core if it is to have any beneficial impact at all. Companies that were able to hold accountability and responsibility in the past were able to prosper in society by gaining people\u2019s hearts, which is one of the most important parts of a company\u2019s success. Building a community of trust, honesty, and transparency with people and presenting an idea that is not only effective for society but also for the environment is one of the major aspects that can help businesses create a positive impact on the social strata. Adidas, for example, initiated a campaign to create sneakers and other products exclusively made of environmentally friendly materials such as faux leather. The company completely stopped producing goods made from animal leather and other dangerous materials.
