In a bid to address crucial skill gaps within the state, New South Wales (NSW) has opened its doors to skilled professionals in vital sectors like healthcare, education, information technology, infrastructure, and agriculture as part of its 2023-24 migration program. The state, under the Migration Program settings, is offering nomination allocations through three visa categories: Skilled \u2013 Nominated (subclass 190), Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491), and the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sector-Focused Strategy Unveiled<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a significant shift from the previous approach, NSW has moved away from specific job categories to a sector-focused strategy. This means that the state will now prioritize sectors such as education, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), infrastructure, and agriculture. The emphasis remains on these key areas, while also considering high-ranking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in non-priority sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opportunities for Students and Professionals<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Encourage eligible candidates to apply despite the reduced number of available visa seats this year (1500 for subclass 491 and 2,650 for subclass 190), as they may still receive state nomination invitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consideration Factors<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The authorities will give preference to submissions of Expressions of Interest in the NSW Priority Sectors. Although they will continue invitation rounds throughout the financial year, they will not publicly announce specific dates for these rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
