The aim of the scholarship is to attract high-performing students to study at the University. The South Asia Excellence Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered to South Asian students. That is, students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka can be eligible. Moreover, the scholarships are automatically awarded to eligible students students from a non-quota program. For example, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, and Srilanka, among others<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be commencing study at the University of Newcastle in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program. However, ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, Higher Degrees by Research programs and programs delivered at offshore campuses are not eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must hold the fee status as an international fee-paying student and meet all&nbsp; financial obligations for the same<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be pursuing an eligible degree at an&nbsp; Australian or Online campus as indicated in the offer letter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, the student must not be a beneficiary of a separate university scholarship unless he\/she has received prior approval from the university for special dispensation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students enrolling in the special quota program are not eligible for the scholarship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-south-asia-excellence-scholarship-benefits-nbsp\"><span id=\"south-asia-excellence-scholarship-benefits\">South Asia Excellence Scholarship Benefits&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Asia Excellence Scholarship benefits is AU$1250 per 10 units of study. The total value of the scholarship is\u00a0 AU$10,000 (532375.70) for each year of study under a standard full-time study of 80 units. Moreover, the scholarship benefit will be applied as a tuition fee reduction on a pro-rata basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Asia Excellence Scholarship is automatically applied to students at the University. However, they have to meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship will be mentioned in the offer letter given to the student.
