Having stage fright<\/strong> and anxiety, being on stage was the most challenging task I\u2019d ever attempted in my life. In hindsight, I realise now how trivial the challenge was in reality, but at that time, it appeared to be an insurmountable <\/strong>obstacle that I had to overcome.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n When I first walked up on stage and looked around at all the unknown eyes captiously<\/strong> looking at me with high expectations, it instantaneously sent shivers down my spine<\/strong> and made me transfixed <\/strong>for a while. However, I mustered all of my courage<\/strong> and remembered what my mother told me about fear. When I was really young, my mother used to tell me that fear is nothing but an illusion. If you think of it that way, it will never affect you. That is what I remembered at the moment and gave my everything in the performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The experience was both surreal <\/strong>and daunting<\/strong>, to say the least. Even today, when I tend to reminisce about the experience, I get jittery. However, the outcome was not as I expected it to be. On the contrary, the audience reception that I got on that day was rather positive and uplifting. The entire ordeal<\/strong> was cathartic <\/strong>for me in a way that it changed my perspective towards fear in general. I walked down the stage as a different person.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n After that incident, I looked at myself differently. I became more adept and confident at handling challenges or tumultuous<\/strong> situations. However, it doesn\u2019t mean that fear is completely unbeknownst<\/strong> to me now, the old rivalry still stands firm but now I have better ways to deal with it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
