{"id":19873,"date":"2023-06-29T13:25:02","date_gmt":"2023-06-29T07:55:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/learn\/?p=19873"},"modified":"2023-06-29T13:25:02","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T07:55:02","slug":"study-in-canada-ircc-announces-changes-to-ielts-for-sds-applicants-know-changes-news-2023-06","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/learn\/study-in-canada-ircc-announces-changes-to-ielts-for-sds-applicants-know-changes-news-2023-06\/","title":{"rendered":"Study in Canada: IRCC Announces Changes to IELTS  for SDS Applicants: Check out the Changes!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced several changes to the English test requirements for SDS applicants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new change is for those who want to apply through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) category and want to get a <a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/blog\/study-in-canada\/\"><strong>Canadian<\/strong><\/a> study permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will no longer have to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 bands in individual sections in the IELTS exam. This change will begin starting in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"new-changes-taking-place\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Changes Taking Place&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the list of all the changes which will begin for students as per the amendment of changes in IELTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the candidate is applying after 10th August 2023, to clear the exam, all they need is an overall score of 6.0 on IELTS Academic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, if the candidate is planning to take the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/learn\/best-ielts-vocabulary-books-to-improve-your-score\/\">IELTS exam<\/a><\/strong> before 10th August 2023. They will have to get IELTS 6.0 band in each skill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apart from this, if the applicant is applying with IELTS General Training, they will have to get 6.0 in each skill, before and after 10th August 2023.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One can also apply to SDS with IELTS Academic or General Training test scores which are 2 years old. The candidate will be able to use the scores they received before 10th August 2023 to apply to SDS. This will happen, once the changes take place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever these new changes come into effect, candidates will only have to get a score of 6.0.
