Minister Sean Fraser stated recently that reunifying families is a matter of compassion and a key pillar of Canadian society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applications will be processed within a period of 30 days. Applicants now extend their open work permits expiring between August 1 and the end of this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the new policies, family members and dependents are eligible for open <strong>work permits<\/strong>. The applications will be accepted under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class (SPCLC).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img  decoding=\"async\"  src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAEAAAABAQMAAAAl21bKAAAAA1BMVEUAAP+KeNJXAAAAAXRSTlMAQObYZgAAAAlwSFlzAAAOxAAADsQBlSsOGwAAAApJREFUCNdjYAAAAAIAAeIhvDMAAAAASUVORK5CYII=\"  alt=\"Study Abroad: Upgrades in Canada Immigration Policies for International Students by IRCC\u00a0\"  class=\"wp-image-16081 pk-lazyload\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/cdnbloglearn.leverageedu.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/young-beautiful-female-student-glasses-smiling-holding-folders-outdoors-1-1024x683.jpg\" ><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 93 per cent of applications have been approved, according to a recent IRCC press release. The new measures are making the application process easier for all applicants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IRCC stated, \u201cOnce in Canada, newcomers often seek jobs to support themselves and their families. That is why Canada has also made open work permits available for spousal applicants and their dependent children who reside with their sponsor in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leverageedu.com\/blog\/study-in-canada\/\">Canada<\/a><\/strong> and have temporary resident status.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fraser also stated, \u201cWe are supporting Canadians and newcomers by reuniting families faster and also allowing them to work and support themselves more quickly once they\u2019re here. By doing so, Canada is helping newcomers achieve their true potential, while also strengthening Canada\u2019s economy and social fabric.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"new-measures-include\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Measures Include<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement includes major changes for <strong>visa applicants<\/strong> such as faster processing times for temporary resident visas (TRV) for spousal applicants. It is a new tool for processing spousal TRV applicants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants can have extensions for open work permits expiring between August 1 and 2023. However, a new work permit for spousal and family class applications is also available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the UK bought in new policies for international students as part of the government\u2019s efforts to curb illegal migration.
