Overseas Universities Can Start Academic Programmes in India by 2025
Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the University Grants Commission stated that the statutory body is taking proper steps to ensure the regulations take place within the first week of May 2023.
Even though the curriculum, as well as the effectiveness of the overseas universities in India, will remain similar to the ones that have been implemented before, the application will follow two processes
Mr Kumar stated that overseas universities need to apply to the UGC when the portal first opens in the upcoming months. A committee of professionals will examine and provide recommendations within 45 days.
Even though the overseas universities will be responsible for determining the syllabus, UGC stated in January 2023 that the universities won’t be able to consider any type of distance or online learning.
