This scheme aims to offer 100% interest subsidy on the education loan of meritorious students who belong to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) to enhance their employability.

According to section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992, these communities are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis.

The eligibility criteria of this scheme are as follows:
1. Should have a secure admission in a Master's or PhD abroad.

2. Their total family income should not be more than INR 6 Lakh per annum.
3. Loan should be taken from a bank scheduled under the Educational Loan Scheme of the Indian Bank Association.
