International Student Association hosted a multicultural low-waste International Food Night with 140 students presenting international cuisines from different parts of the world.

Universities now involve in different cultural and multicultural events that better the conception of international education. As a result, Creighton University hosted International Food Night with the support of the International Student Association. The multicultural event was a great success according to the University. There was a turnover that was more than the expected number. Also, the international students achieved some great sustainability goals. The event thus successfully celebrated exquisite dishes in the most eco-friendly gesture. The President of ISA herself indulged in the food celebrations.

Low Waste MultiCultural Food Fest

The diversity of the aspect of international education is best understood by celebrating exotic dishes from around the world. However, it is of greater importance when two great combinations of values are achieved through such an event. The International Food Night by ISA and the host university achieved sustainability goals.

The two sustainability goals that the international students collectively achieved were:

  • Zero wastage of food.
  • Eco-friendly serving system.

The event was also successful in creating a very important CSR value at the ground level. International students are the future of global enterprises. Thus, the multicultural diversity experience that was immersed through cultural cuisines was a great CSR value. Additionally, international students creating a CSR value for the University and ISA definitely made the students more responsible towards the global society.

International Food Night by ISA

The President of ISA, Chantal Portes, is a senior student at Creighton University. She herself presented her own cultural dish, Pastelón, from the Dominican Republic. She believes that the event served its purpose of making students feel at home and welcome. Again, trying dishes from other regions of the world makes students feel the essence of being a global citizen.

All the students enjoyed the event while networking aptly at the event over delicious food. 140 students turned up at the event which was far more than the expected number. Presenters served food in compostable dishes, spoons, napkins, and utensils. 

Lujain Abdullah, an external attendant at the event gladly shared her love for Lebanese and Dominican cuisines. She came to the event to network with the other students taking a cue from the fact that multicultural discussions are very positive in such events.

Thus, international events like these are very immersive and elaborate in nature. International students get a chance to see the world differently and become a part of the global community. Studying abroad becomes fun and exciting because of these events.
