Description

The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university located in Oxford, England. The University is made up of a variety of institutions, including 38 constituent colleges and a full range of academic departments which are organised into four divisions. Oxford is located around 60 miles northwest of London, and around 45 percent of its student body is made up of graduate students. Research at Oxford takes place in all four of its academic divisions: humanities; mathematical, physical and life sciences; medical sciences; and social sciences. Oxford has educated many notable alumni, including 28 Nobel laureates, 27 Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom and many heads of state and government around the world. Oxford is the home of the Rhodes Scholarship, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious international scholarships.
